Principle #1: God's principle of individuality. Put another way, 'There is one God working and governing in and through individuals, individual families, individual churches, communities and nations. "Everything is God's universe is revelational of God's infinity, God's diversity, God's individuality. God creates distinct individualities. God maintains the identity and individuality of everything which He created." T & L, pg. 65 Red Book Readings: CHOC: See T&L for reading assignments T & L: Pg. 65 - 68; Pg. 113-117; Pg. 139-183 GACE: Pg. 24, 25 (and all preceding pages), Pg. 29-35 Supporting Books: America's Providential History, The Providence Foundation Genesis, Finding our Roots, Ruth Beechick Principle #2: Individual Self-Government. Put another way, 'voluntary submission under the authority of Christ in God.' "He knows not how to rule a kingdome, tht cannot manage a Province; nor can he wield a Province, that cannot order a City; nor he order a City, that knows not how to regulate a Village; nor he a Village, that cannot guide a Family; nor can that man Govern well a Family that knows not how to Govern himselfe; neither can any Govern himselfe unless his reason be Lord, Will and Appetite her Vassals: nor can Reason rule unlesse herselfe be ruled by God, and (wholy) be obedient to Him." --Hugo Grotius, 1654 T & L, pg. 69 Red Book Readings: CHOC: See T&L for reading assignments T & L: Pg. 69-72, Pg. 184-209 GACE: Pg. 36-39 Supporting Books: The Little Red Hen, by Paul Galdone
Principle #3: America's Heritage of Christian Character "This divine power of the gospel revealed itself to the heathen in the lives of Christians, which showed forth the virtues of Him who had called them out of darkness into his marvellous light, and enabled them to walk as the children of God, in the midst of a perverse generation , among whom they shone as lights in the world!...The whole life of the Christian, from the beginning to the end, is a conflict with the world and the powers of darkness, and a conflict within and without..." --Neander "Memorials of a Christian Life," 1852 T & L, pg. 73 Red Book Readings: CHOC: T & L: Pg. 73 - 75 GACE: Pg. 39 - 43 Supporting Books:
Principle #4: Conscience is the most sacred of all property. Man is God's property, as His workmanship. An Illustration of the importance of this principle: Without the spine of the book, the book falls apart... By plugging in to the 4th principle, the rest of the principles can be properly accessed. All 7 principles are uniquely joined, and built upon one another. Liberty of Conscience, however, is the spine, the backbone, the hinge point for all the others. Without Liberty of Conscience, individuality cannot be properly realized, self-government cannot be properly exercised, Christian character cannot be properly developed, a Christian form of government cannot be properly maintained, nor the seed of local self-government be planted, nor true unity with union be achieved.

Principle #5: The Christian Form of Our Government "As men we have God for our King, and are under the Law of Reason; As Christian, we have Jesus the Messiah for our King, and are under the Law reveal'd by him in the Gospel..." -- "The Reasonableness of Christianity," John Locke, 1695 T & L, pg. 79 Red Book Reading: CHOC: T & L: GACE: Supporting Books: Anything by David Barton www.wallbuilders.com More to come
Principle #6: How the Seed of Local Self Government is Planted "The government of the United States is acknowledged by the wise and good of other nations, to be the most free, impartial, and righteous government of the world; but all agree, that for such a government to be sustained many years, the principles of truth and righteousness, taught in the Holy Scriptures, must be practiced. The rulers must govern in the fear of God, and the people obey the laws." -- Emma Willard, 1843 T & L, pg. 83 Red Book Readings: CHOC: T &L: GACE: Supporting Books: coming soon
Principle #7: Unity with Union "Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ..." -- Ephesians 4:13 T & L, pg. 85 Red Book Readings: CHOC: T & L: GACE: Supporting Books: coming soon
