Leading Ideas: 

God protected North America for a Christian Form of Government.

God provided for Columbus to embark on his voyage.

Choices have consequences (Columbus is a good example of this).

Individual responsibility in society is the best structure for the whole of society.  (The Pilgrims at Plymouth are a good example, and can be compared to the Puritans in northern Mass.)
